Step 1: Keep Yah Mout’ Shat…

Just had to share this one with you…

Again thanks to you my readers who always keep me on my toes with ingenious ways to impart some speck of wisdom.

Iyanla Vanzant said “Every time we open our mouths we release a powerful energy…” [Acts of Faith]

This was so true for myself and two others who came upon a situation which warranted us to Keep Our Mout’ Shat. What happened was that a young lady asked myself and another guy to assist her in preparation for a show. We were in earnest preparations when another lady approached us with a very visible attitude issue and indicated that she spoke on the behalf of a number of persons in the auditorium. Her position was that we were making noise and interrupting a meeting which she had started.

In this instance – I had nothing with the booking of the auditorium nor did I have any previous or post relations with this upsetting lady. Yet, she address myself rather than the lady which had solicited our (my and the other guy’s) assistance. In my years of leadership and management, I recognized that it was important to prevent an already underlying issue from exploding. I glanced across the room and recognized that “uh oh” there is more here than bargained for and as such to reduce any fall out I kept my mouth shut. In addition the others followed my lead thereby easing any further aggravation. We left the auditorium amicably and of course while on the outside the young lady to whom the issue should have been directed and who we were assisting blew her fuse.

This led me to easily reference Iyanla Vanzant’s musings – “If we could learn to hold on to that energy, it could be used to nurture our dreams, heal our bodies and fuel our minds…” [Acts of Faith]

The easiest way to prevent a sticky situation from blowing up?

Keep yah Mout’ Shat and say nothing…

Good advice indeed. It is a piece of advice I had to learn the hard way so take heed!!So what was the decision? Did you all perform? If not do you have any news of the show? I'm just interested in knowing.

Nope didn't perform and heard that the show was in shambles...poor organisation and poorer execution...I guess I should email them a few things to being sucessful...
